Question about financing a car and the CARS rebate?

Me and my dad want to cash in on the CARS rebate, he has an old ford bronco that qualifies. If the bronco is in his name, can he trade it in towards a car for me, in my name? Secondarily, could I also trade my car in? Please be detailed in your answer, a 'no' is not what im looking for.
