Will getting limewire slow down your computer no matter what?

Using Limewire is the equivalent of keeping your front door open and leaving the house for the day. Expect to "return home" and find things rearranged, damaged or stolen. Limewire is the best way to allow hundreds of complete strangers easy access to your pc (including programs that will turn off your antivirus program). The malware you'll surely get *will* slow down your pc. Yeah, some people don't seem to have a problem with, it but I work in tech support and seen too many people pay $200 or more to repair or reformat computers that were damaged because they downloaded $20 of free music on Limewire.
