In the movie, The Lovely Bones, how does Mr. Harvey die?

i have read the book and seen the movie and i know that in the book he dies from an icicle hitting him in the head and him falling into a ravine..then freezing to death. I also know that he dies in the movie but I need more details becase i have no access to the movie. or could someone tell me the differene between his death in the book and the movie...thanks :)
