I live in wisconsin and my basement furnace is a Clayton wh-001567 gas fireplace, but its not working?

its controlled by a mercury thermostat. the pilot is out, but when i make sure the gas line and pilot line are on and push the red pilot on, nothing happens. its getting colder and colder here and i need help lol what do i do?
